HTC announced the HTC Touch Diamond mobile phone that is scheduled to leave in June 2008. All mobile phone manufacturers have been trying to get a device that blows the water out of the Apple iPhone, and HTC just may have come with the products!
The HTC Touch Diamond is a touch screen Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone with TouchFLO 3D (an upgrade to the original TouchFLO gesture control system). Only measures 102 x 51 x 11.5mm and weighs 110 grams which is quite small and lightweight for 3.5G smart phone. It has a smaller screen than the iPhone, but then the iPhone has a large screen itself. The HTC Touch Diamond still has with a screen larger than the average measurement of 2.8 "which also automatically flips from portrait to landscape orientations when the screen is rotated, as the iPhone. The screen also has a VGA resolution screen, with only a small number of mobile phones currently on the market with this feature.
The front of the HTC Touch Diamond has a glossy finish style glass, but the actual design is in the back of the phone. The back is similar to Prism Nokia makes the phone stand out from the crowd.
A bonus for the HTC Touch Diamond is that it includes Assisted GPS, so you can connect with Satnav your favorite application like Google Maps or TomTom. The iPhone does not feature GPS at all, just has to Google Maps.
One advantage of the HTC Touch Diamond is the 3.5G data that allows the handset to download data at speeds up to 7.2 MB per second. HSUPA also supports giving the HTC Touch Diamond High Speed Load too!
Other features include EDGE, GPRS, Bluetooth, USB 2.0 connectivity, FM radio, compatible with Microsoft Office documents, push email, and playback of audio and video through Windows Media Player.
