Bama Mini

Ever since the mini cooper first appeared on the radar people have loved it,the first little minis are the coolest little cars anyone has ever laid eyes on  and rock and roll icons like the beatles were running around in the little mini coopers when the first came out.  The first minis  to come out in around 1961 were the morris minis , they were very economical and cheap,just about anyone could afford a mini back then,they had a 848cc engine with a long stroke that could be increased to 997cc for  higher performance with twin carbs and different transmission,eventually these cars turned up at racing events and showed great racing abilities.

A more powerful mini cooper surfaced in 1963 with a 1071cc engine called a S model,it had a different crankshaft and stronger bottom end which allowed for further high performance mods, this enhancement brought about a racing craze that got notice,cooper actually produced mini coopers that were made just for racing and they had a 1275cc high performance engine. Over 6000 mini coopers with the 1275cc engine were produced.

For 20 years the name mini cooper disappeared from the british brand of minis because british leyland did not want to pay a royalty to Mr. Cooper for using his name and they were called mini clubman however they were not as successful as the original mini cooper however they were made up until about 1980. In  the earlier  1970s  there was a bertone designed series based on the mini but not that many were built.

The mini cooper was a huge success for nearly 20 years and bad management along with a tired unfulfilled company that didn't seem to know what to do with a car company just let it simmer . In 2000 the bmw motor company retained the rights to the mini cooper name,after launching the new revised mini cooper it was wildly successful, new owners and mini clubs sprang up from everywhere,now you can get any kind of accessories and high performance parts for your mini cooper also there are hundreds of support groups and clubs to be affiliated with.
